Rings of Honor

Rings of Honor
Ring of Klytus

The Ring of Klytus is a magical artifact constructed by the architect of Twilight Isle, Klytus. It is awarded to the one with the highest win/loss ratio from among those who have completed at least eight (8) duels, and is held for the entirety of the following cycle. The Ring's current holder is eligible to win it again, and thus may hold it for multiple consecutive cycles if the holder consistently performs the best out of all the duelists each cycle. The Ring grants an extra advanced spell to its holder, which can be selected freely before each duel. However, those of Wizard rank cannot gain Nether Ray or Immolation from it, and cannot benefit from the Ring's powers in this sense.

Ring of Klytus Powers

It is unknown what the Ring is actually made of, though it is most certainly not made of any mundane, common materials. It has been theorized that it may possibly be made of solidified mana. Wearing it grants several benefits. It can be used as a reservoir of extra energy, which gradually recharges after being used. It gives its holder a sense of heightened spiritual awareness; he will more easily be able to feel various types of energies. The holder will also be a little more easily able to cast spells that would normally be difficult to him, even spells that would normally be too difficult to cast at all.

This strange ring can also react with the energies of its holder and possibly gain a personality of its own, complete with the ability to speak, much like the Rapier of New Haven. However, unlike the Rapier, whose personality is consistent, the resulting personality, if any at all, may be completely different from one holder to another, and there is no way to determine what personality will manifest. The Ring and its holder's personalties may even be as different as night and day. Its personality is omnilingual, and it can help its wearer to understand all sorts of languages.
