Thursday Night Menu

Post by Izira Nyte »

June 26, 2008

Topaz and Izira have made a mutual effort to provide something for the dueling community, as well as those who happen by The Great Helm this evening. While only those who have attended the Magic Duels would have gotten to the ‘Dinner Free for Two’ coupon, dinner would still be available—at a price of six silvers per person—for all other patrons. The meal will be served buffet style upon “The Lord’s Table” which resides in a long nook between the heart and the kitchen. (Thus making it easier for the cooks to keep everything hot and fresh.) For your dining pleasure we will be providing the following:

Appetizers:

• Stuffed Mushrooms
• Fried Cheese
• House Salad
• Cesar Salad
• Meatballs
• Shrimp Cocktail

Entrees:

• Baked Chicken
• Chicken Parmesan
• Lasagna
• Spaghetti with choice of Marinara or Meat Sauce
• Fettuccine Alfredo

Dessert:

• Fresh Fruits with Dipping Chocolate (Dark, Milk and White)
• Raspberry Cheesecake
• Strawberry Cheesecake
• Marble Cheesecake with a Chocolate Drizzle
• Seven-layer Chocolate Cake

Dinner will be started at Seven (Central) and be available until Eleven.

Despite the disappearance of Izira Nyte from RhyDin, Thursday Night Dinners will still be on. As a menu has already been made up for this week, I will go by what the lady already had planned and look forward to suggestions for future meals!

Dinners for Duelers! (And anyone else hungry!)

Post by TinyTrouble »

The menu was ready and posted about the tavern, likewise added to any bulletin boards about the structures where duels were held. For those who spotted the girl posting the list, they could describe as a bouncy red-head that wouldn't sit still. If asked about the meal she would assure that the food will be hot and read during the hours of service and that trained cooks (not herself) would be doing to cooking. Also adding that next week they would be serving steak.

Food will be provided free for the dueling community and at a price of six silver for non-duelers at The Great Helm on Thursday evening. Still, if duelers would care to make a donation or supply a tip it would be appreciated. The meal will be served buffet style upon “The Lord’s Table” which resides in a long nook between the heart and the kitchen. (Making it easier for the cooks to keep everything hot and fresh.) For your dining pleasure we will be providing the following on July 10th, 2008:

• Corn Muffins
• Collard Greens
• Green Beans (Cooked with Butter, Bacon and Grilled Onions)
• Steamed Broccoli (Buttered or Plain)
• Hush Puppies
• Coleslaw
• Fries (Steak and Shoe-String Style)
• Homemade Potato Chips & a Dill Dip
• Homemade Whipped Potatoes (Regular and Sweet Potato)

Entrees:

• Fried Chicken
• Baked Chicken
• Fried Walleye (No Bones)
• Fried Catfish (No Bones)

Kitchen Mishap!!

While dinner was still on for the duelers and anyone who wanted to come, the set-up for the evening would be something a bit different. It seemed someone thought to try to help the cooks in the cooking and the situation got a little.... burnt.

So! New plan!

The Lord's Nook was spread out with the following:

• Freshly made Black Bean and Corn Salsa with chips
• Fresh Mixed-Green Salad with a Vinaigrette
• A Platter of Assorted Sandwiches on Rolls (all with Lettuce)
Ham and Cheddar
Turkey and Provolone
Roast Beef and Colby Jack
• A Selection of Condiments for the Sandwiches (Mayo, Mustard, Sliced Tomatoes, Ketchup.)
• A Platter of Fresh Veggies and Dip (Carrots, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Baby Tomatoes, Celery, Greek and Green Olives.)
• A Platter of Appetizer Cut Deli Meats (Salami and Pepperoni) with Cubed Cheeses (Mozzarella, Jalapeno Mozzarella and Cheddar.)

Someone had also gone out and gotten a chocolate fountain and spread around it various items for dipping: Marshmallows, graham crackers, pretzel sticks, slices bananas, strawberries and vanilla cookies.

Dinner it set to be ready at Seven (Central), though it is unknown how long the meal will be made available tonight. So come early to make sure you get something in those stomachs!
