Gimme Old Market (Challenge for Old Market)

Post by JewellRavenlock »

On a cocktail napkin in pink lip gloss:

I think this is better than a challenge queue personally. Gatito dear, our fist fight was fun. Let's do it with weapons now.

Jewell's original notice was vandalized with black Sharpie reading a single word:

BORING

Her second note was also written in a napkin from a different bar from the first.

You're absolutely right. The duels have been super boring overall (with a few exceptions) as people sit on their titles like they're hatching an egg and get their feathers ruffled when called upon to defend.

Let's mix it up a bit mother cluckers.

Written on a notecard and added to the cork conversation:
Jewell,

I think I’d use the word “interesting” rather than “better.” That word describes a lot of the things pinned here recently, don’t you think?

I’m down to dance, but I’m not going to just give you this barony. So come and take it from me, if you can. Should be fun however things fall out.

Let’s meet up soon and discuss the details.

First of all, everyone should go eat at Gatito's cafe. It's amazing. How did I not know about this sooner? I'm making Lupton take me back for brunch tomorrow and then he's going to need a wheelbarrow to get me home because I am going to eat everything.

Oh and second, Gatito and I are going to meet to decide the fate of Old Market in style on Monday, April 24th beginning at 8:30pm. The wonderful Max will oversee the proceedings.

To Whom It May Concern,

Apparently, you're considered a bully around here these days if you:
  • Challenge someone who has yet to defend (but is more than capable of doing so) their current title
  • Challenge for the barony you happen to live in and have not yet held
  • Challenge someone you have enjoyed fighting in the past
For what it's worth (not that I owe anyone an explanation for my actions) the only thing the Old Temple discourse changed was my timeline. Regardless, it is with respect for the challenged (but few others) that I issue this notice to officially rescind my pursuit for Old Market at this time.

Gatito, it has been a pleasure arranging the details with you. One day I will get to test myself against a DiArchLord but not right now. I do regret that I am taking away the opportunity to raise funds for the Old Market Women's Shelter. To make amends for that, Real RhyDin and I will still be making a donation. Perhaps you and I can also discuss a non-challenge related charity fundraiser in the near future. Maybe over more hazelnut treats?

Sincerely,
The Empress
Jewell "The Shrieking Harpy" Ravenlock

P.S. Kruger, posting that a queue would be exciting and then going after a different title is called misdirection or a feint. A simple tactic to keep immortal life a little more exciting. Feel free to look it up in the copy of The Basics of Battle that I left for you on the nearest table.

Another notecard was added to the conversation. It read:
Jewell,

Likewise, I enjoyed arranging the details with you and hope we get the chance to do so again sometime in the future. In the meantime, I’ll look forward to us catching up to each other in one of the dueling venues.

Thank you for the promised donation to the Old Market Women’s Shelter. Deathcake and I will also be making a donation to them in lieu of what might have come with the challenge.

I would very much like to explore the possibility of coordinating a charity fundraiser with you at some point in the future. We can definitely discuss that over lunch and sweets.

Please stop by the café and say hi whenever you’re in New Haven.

Sincerely,
Gatito Lindo
