The group touched down several meters from where the arrow was indicating Sylus’s position to be. Before setting off Xeno appointed Artemus to play scout then asked Alais if she wanted second position with the strange mechanical creation “Ozy” taking flight above them to get an aerial scope of the surroundings.

As they moved forward, Artemus commented on how cliché it was that vampires and other forms of undead seemed to claim churches for their nesting grounds. He understood that since most had catacombs already built they only chose them because everything was there for them, no work involved. Art just could not get over the lack of originality. Moving quickly and quietly the trio moved towards the back of the church where “Ozy” relayed some information that he, it, spotted a broken door leading below the church.

Taking point, Artemus descended into the basement of the church while Xenograg and Alais were talking at the top of the stairs, what about only they knew. Not seeing any doors in the room he returned to the bottom of the steps and told the pair just that, and mentioned there might be a passage or something he was missing.

Once they were all down there, each of them began to look around for a possible door, looking. However, once again Alais’s mechanical companion found the door for the group. The creature was making itself quite useful and Artemus hoped the trend would continue. A few quick en-spelled words from Alais had the shelf along the far wall moving and the door opening, the trio quickly moved through the door and down a slow grade that took them into the outer fringes of the underground complex.
