It's been an interesting couple of months. Loves and lusts, action and excitement, danger and adventure abounded. With all this going on, it was no doubt necessary to consider the need for releasing some aggression and gaining a nice bit of relaxation away from the things of man.

The only place our roguish hero could do such a thing is on the open sea. So, he did what any sovereign would do. He sat at his desk and drew up a letter of marque, assigning to himself and sealing it with his own personal stamp. He smiled as he folded the paper, placing it in a leather envelope to keep on his person at all times. Then, he stood and walked to an armoire, taking hold of the handles and pulling the doors open to reveal his seafaring outifts.

These consisted of leather boots, loose fitting breeches, a whilte silken fencing shirt and a dark blue jacket of British design. He liked that jacket for some reason. He then pulled out his leather baldric and placed it over his shoulder, pulling out the sword from its sheathe to ensure its sharpness. He smiled and replaced it and then reached back in to retrieve a long, black, thick traveling cloak, throwing it over his shoulders. Finally, he took out the hat with a black ostrich feather in it and placed it over his head. He turned to look in a full length mirror, making adjustments until he was satisfied.

He nodded and smiled, pleased with his appearance and then took to exiting the Golden Ivy Tavern without a glance to his workers. He looked the part of Privateer, so then that's what he was going to do. A little side work.

He sat in the cabin of his ship as it sailed out to sea. The helmsman was more than competent enough to hand the ship and allow him some time to be by himself, relaxing. The comfortable seat was located by the stern of the ship so that he could look over the waters as they passed through. At the moment, he looked of from his reading and watched as the city of Rhydin shrank in the distance.

He smiled to himself, thinking this could probably be the best season for a break. He wouldn't be gone long, just enough to breathe, get his sea legs back, enjoy the clean air of the open waters, engage in a little, old fashioned, classical piracy. Politically correct term being Privateering.

His Brig was refit, cleaned, polished and raring to go. A fresh crew was sent for from the homeland and he had already informed them what he expected. One hundred and fifty seven well trained crew members looking forward to seeing some action and gaining some profits for the effort.

Another smile as he watched Rhydin disappear over the horizon, and he then looked back down to his book, sighing in relaxation.

Always.

At this point in the trip he always stood up top, aft, with his hands folded behind his back, staring over the open sea. Swaying side to side in time with the waves as his ship cuts through the water, all he does is stand there and hum a little tune.

Mister Pratchitt had the helm and was steering the ship on its course, the rest of the crew were going about their business securing lines, polishing brass, scrubbing the deck. The cannons were ready to fire at any moment, just the doors needed to be lifted. Down in the holds, they had their supplies as well as some spices that he was delivering to a city far off the coast as a favor to a friend.

Of course, if they ran across some fat merchant vessel on the way, so much the better. He'd likely end up with more goods to sell and another ship to add to his fleet, it's been done numerous times before and how he's been able to maintain such a sizable profit.

If he ran across a hunter, well, that might be a little more difficult. Nothing he couldn't handle of course. And then he'd have more gunpowder, iron, cannon and supplies for battle, wouldn't he?

Excellent. Bring him the horizon.
