August All Ranks Tournament

Greetings All,

Come one, come all, bring family and friends to the August All Ranks Tournament on Twilight Isle, Tuesday, August 11th, 10 PM EST. Add to your fame and record and try to win one of the wizard figurines to show off to your friends and foes.

All duelers are elegible to enter (including those not yet listed in the standings). The number of spells for everyone to use during the tournament will be limited to the basic eight. The tournament will be in the format of single elimination. Ring assignments will be given out at 10 PM EST. Please try to be there 30-20 minutes prior to 10 PM EST. Once ring assignments for the first round have been announced, no further entries can be accepted.

And, of course there will be prizes. Your wins from the tournament will be added to your overall DoM record. That means everyone surviving the first round will have at least 1 win added to the standings.

In addition:
The winner will recieve
A purple robed wizard figurine (and a guaranteed rank increase)
The runner up will recieve
A green robed wizard figurine
The second runner up will recieve
A yellow robed wizard figurine

(The figurines are images to be displayed in your DM profiles)

Results

We had a wonderful turn out for the August All Ranks Tournament. My personal thanks to each and every one of you who came to Twilight Isle yesterday to participate or to watch and cheer. Each of you had a art in making this a special evening. I particularly appreciate the sportsmanship everyone practiced. Big kudos to you all for that. Rissa thank you for coming to the isle to help out officiating.

We had a long evening of wonderful duels. A lot of them were excitingly close and could have gone either way. Despite all those nail biters not a single match went into overtime. In the last round of matches we got to watch Misty and Paradise duel for third place. After thirteen rounds, several lead changes and evened up scores Paradise emerged victorious to claim third prize. In the other ring we got to watch Rena and Ahni cast for the tournament win. Ahni gained the early lead and managed to widen it to a point and a half. But she was not able to hold onto it and Rena evened out the score. In the final round Ahni, who has only picked up casting in competition two weeks prior to the tournament, managed to trap Rena in a cloud of noxious fumes to win the match and the tournament.

Well done Ahni and well cast.

Fleetwolf, Tormay Eludes and ThorneFang 1 win each, Misty 2 wins, Paradise 3 wins, Rena A Cronin 4 wins, Ahni 5 wins. In addition Paradise was awarded the green and yellow robed wizard figurine for placing third, Rena was awarded the red and green robed izard figurine for placing second, and Ahni was awarded the purple and purple robed wizard figurine for winning the DoM August all ranks tournament.
