All Ranks Tournament Theme - March 7th, 2012

Post by Chythraul The Vile »

While his queen busied herself preparing the foodstuffs, the dragon known far and wide as Chythraul The Vile stood upon the roof of the Tower of Earth. Weaving circles with his hands, he spun an orb of green-colored magic before extending his arms outwards and infusing two gems, which rested in the palm of each hand, with the powers of his Element as the Earth rumbled and quaked in protest of having its powers used.

He phased out of sight, reappearing in front of the Tower's doors. There, beside the platform he had built for the caller, he placed three spheres of displacement beneath three signs which read: The Bog of Eternal Stench, The Ruins of Ryujin & The Dragon's Eye. Each of these three spheres would take the duelists who dared to enter these rings upon the slightest of touch. The caller had a sphere of his/her own, which was placed upon a table beside his/her seat. Touching this sphere would both allow the caller to watch the duel and to retrieve the duelers once the match was over. (The spheres would also take anyone who wanted to observe along with the duelists to the ring's location.) The two Earth Gems were placed in a box carved from the bones of a dwarf and set upon the seat upon the platform which had been prepared for the esteemed caller.

In front of the Tower of Earth, Titan appeared first, summoned by whispering its name and thus allowing anyone to use the Keeper of Earth's ring as their place of battle.

Titan:

Crags and mountainous spears of rock pierce the grounds of the ring, fusing and smashing against one another constantly to form a flat mid-level playing field with spindly pillars of earth rising to various upper-level platforms that tilt and could tumble with a single misplaced step, not to mention the presence of treacherous holes into the darkened and labyrinthine first level’s Underdark.

The Bog Of Eternal Stench:

Small landmasses surrounded by a bog filled with an unknown, gurgling liquid of pitch black. Stepping stones connected the landmasses and there was a single bridge which stretched over the bog. The duelers have the choice of dueling upon the bridge or taking the fight down below. But beware, it takes quite the sorcerer to lift the smell of the bog from your skin.

The Ruins of Ryujin:

At the foot of the staircase leading to the ruined temple of Ryujin, Dragon God of the sea, sits a circular courtyard. The cobbles are cracked and displaced by jungle vines, grown up over centuries, making natural traps for the feet of the unwary. The inate magic of the temple sapped the strength from those who entered the circle. Over time the energies had twisted and grown malicious with the shifting of it's natural element from water to earth.

The Dragon's Eye:

The field of battle lay within the heart of a cave long forgotten by time. A roomy cavern with stalagmites and stalactites to weave in and out of had a claw-like formation at its center. Within the grasp of this claw-like formation was The Dragon's Eye. It was said to possess an orb of great power which, through touch, can be harnessed by the user. This orb was once called The Dragon's Eye, for it suffused man with the magic of a dragon and even gave them power over dragons of weaker constitution. Chythraul had wisely hidden it centuries before he had been chained to that island which Pearl had rescued him from...but here was the Eye for any duelers brave enough to use it. The Dragon's Eye cannot be moved from its place but it can be used to augment a dueler's magic.

With his work done, Chythraul retired to his tower in order to pick at whatever it was Pearl was preparing. No one knew it but his queen was, perhaps, the best cook Rhy'Din had to offer.

The following is Pearl Luster & Chythraul Cubuklu's offerings of food and refreshments for all those in attendance. There will be tables scattered around the felled trees which would serve as seats. Some of the felled trees have curtains of moss for those who might wish for a moment of privacy. Finally, a fire has a skinned unicorn, with an apple in its mouth and an exquisite cranberry glaze, turning on a spit above the flames. The horn was missing, probably cut away by Chythraul for use in alchemy or taken by Pearl for use as a barrette.

Refreshments came in the form of a light meal to be circulated by magically chained wood sprites. There will also be a wandering minstrel, though do not ask why he has a rag wrapped around his head so that it covers his eyes.

Starters:

Raw oysters from the undersea lair of the Dragon Pearl Luster, a very rare treat as she hates to share.

Deviled Eggs of Phoenix, collected from the nest still warm. Prepared with a light olive oil and finely ground brown mustard.

Main course:

Roasted unicorn, your choice of cuts fresh from the creature turning on the spit over the evening's bonfire. Served with a light cranberry sauce and fresh greens.

Gryphon Tartare spiced with Chimera blood, served with a mandrake root salad.

Kraken and Seafood alfredo, served with garlic breadsticks and a caesar salad.

Spaghetti and Minotaur Meat Meatballs, also served with breadsticks and a caesar salad.

Your choice of these fine wines:

Moonlight Sand Manticore Venom Wine, a light white wine vintage 1778.

Underdark's Finest Drowblood Wine, a deep rich red wine vintage 1962.

Desserts:

Sugared Pixies, pressed pixies in a crystaline coating of sugar, sprinkled with just a touch of lavendar and violet water for aroma.

Kitten Praline, newborn Russian Blue's coated in a salty caramel praline.

Brownies, made from finely diced genuine Brownies.
