Also, this time, Pharlen's going to go through and make sure no one's serving nun soup or halfling on the half shell, so feel free to be annoyed by the various food inspectors.))

Tenball will be hosting LIVE from the Marketplace Square on Saturday, 7/18 from 8 p.m. Rhy'din Time until there's nobody left or the food runs out!

There will be a stall set up by Gardenhome Orchards serving both fruit juice and wine slushies to keep cool in the evening summer heat! In addition, Pacarelli's Homemade Ice Cream across the square will be offering free sundaes with coupons! See Tenball for the coupons.

Finally, the Beat-Elves (quite possibly the multiverse's only all-elven Beatles tribute band) will be performing on stage starting at 8:30 p.m. They will perform three sets in all, with short breaks between each.

The Matadero Meat Company Proudly Presents...



This year at the Taste of Rhydin, come join the volunteers of the Matadero Meat Company in celebrating its 6th Annual Hawaiian Pit Style Pig Roast! This event coincides with the grand opening of the Carnicería which took place on July 13th, 2015. This year’s celebration once again includes the traditional spit style roast pig as well as a variety of smoked sausages, beef and pork ribs, steaks, and hamburgers too. Yes, you can add bacon! Each plate includes a side of grill roasted corn on the cob, summer vegetables, and a variety of summer fruits along with your choice of entree.



Boscoe and Lyle Stiggowitz, volunteers from the company’s main facility, and, for a few hours each day, even Rhydin’s Best Cajun, will be tending the grills and stalls in front of the Carnicería just down the road from the main Market Square. Come on out for your free samples, and perhaps learn about the Matadero Meat Company’s free range farm raised swine and cattle and humane slaughter practices.

Just like years previous, the Matadero Meat Company is giving away free t-shirts! This year’s selection features three prints from the past. Limit to one shirt per person, subject to availability. Additional prints are available for purchase. All proceeds of t-shirt sales will benefit the Old Market Recovery Assistance Program as well as aid neighborhood repairs as a result of the Wednesday Evening Hellspawn Attacks. Black Magic Burger's food truck will be at the Taste of RhyDin event, serving a limited, slider-based menu of some of their favorite duelist-inspired burgers!

• The Bailey Raptis (69th Archmage Burger): Jamaican jerk seasoned ground beef patty, Monterey Jack cheese, mango and sweet pepper salsa.
• The Gren Blockman (All Outback Titles Burger): I Can't Believe It's Not Burger patty, cherry tomato jam, avocado mash, vegan cheddar, vegan roasted garlic mayo, baby arugula, red onion
• The Lilith Anderson (10th Triple Crown Burger): Your choice of patty, jalapeno, applewood smoked bacon, sriracha ketchup, cumin lime mayo, pepper jack cheese, cheddar cheese, swiss cheese. Pepper jack cheese available Ghost Pepper style.
• The Michelle Montoya (102nd Diamond Burger): Basil balsamic steeped portabella mushroom, Tamari almond goat cheese, grainy mustard mayo.

French fries or sweet potato fries will also be available to go along with the burgers. Additionally, the truck will be selling bottles of Badsider, Silver Mark lager, Broot root beer, and Real RhyDin 'Ritas (Patrón Silver, Cointreau, pineapple juice, lime juice, Tajín rim, lime wedge garnish, on the rocks) in special to-go glasses.

Nicole's Bistro and Pizzeria will have their mobile kitchen including a pizza oven on site for this event. Sit down and walk up service are available. The Bistro's staff has set up a pergola as overhead cover for their outdoor seating.

Souvlaki grilled on a wood fire. Meat choices are lamb, beef, pork, and chicken.

Wegman Family Mushrooms


Get a taste of Wegman’s this summer! The Wegman brothers stall in Old Market carries a full line of delicious, fresh, locally farmed and foraged mushrooms in both individual tills and bulk boxes, as well as truffles and other gourmet varieties. Dried mushrooms available in 2oz packages. At the Taste of Rhydin they will be offering free samples.

Several trucks pulled up overnight, and by day, they revealed they were from the local grocery store co-op. They handed out boxes of groceries to anyone asking, from dry goods and staples to dairy, produce, and meats, all carefully packed meal kit style.

Pharlen took one of the demonstration stages, of course decked out in an emerald green cocktail dress fished out the 1950s, with matching heels, pearls, and earrings. Her hair was in a shellacked helmet of a beehive, and protecting her dress was a ridiculously frilly white gauzy apron.

Today's lesson was canning and brining various meats for over winter storage. It was a request from a certain elf whose services Pharlen shamelessly exploited.

Throughout the Taste of Rhy'din weekend, Pacarelli's in the Marketplace will be offering specials on their handcrafted ice cream bowls and sundaes!

Feel the need to beat the heat with something nice and cold? Looking for a tasty dessert after an afternoon at the pig roast? Come on over to Pacarelli's and chill in a friendly, laid-back (and air-conditioned!) setting, or sit outside on the deck and watch the Taste crowd!

On Sunday afternoon 7/19, Gardenhome Orchards will be presenting a demonstration of canning and preserving fresh fruits. Come and learn how to select, prepare, and preserve fruits while in season to enjoy their deliciousness all year long! Whether you're a baker with a fondness for pies and tarts, or just a kid who loves some PB&J for lunch, there's something for everyone!

Owl at the Gallows, Twilight Market's new fusion between Old Temple's Hangman Distillery and Old Market's Sassy Owl Saloon, has set up a tent for the full weekend. Featuring all the bar food faves of the Owl with a wide selection of craft whisky, scotch, and bourbon, patrons can learn what goes into the distilling process and then try their hand at mixing up their own cocktail using one of the Hangman whisky line and any number of assorted mixers. The Owl's head bartender, Casey Malachi, is on hand for most of it to show budding mixologists just how its done.
